Katie Price sings A Whole New World after cover with ex Peter Andre

Katie Price delighted her fans this week after she sang A Whole New World while performing in a Sleeping Beauty pantomime.

The former glamour model, 45, is playing The Wicked Fairy Carabosse at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, raking in £60,000 for the gig.

She has received scathing reviews for her performances so far and has admitted to making mistakes during her first week of shows.

But she was praised on Thursday by her fans after one pantomime goer shared a clip of Katie singing the signature 1992 song from Aladdin to TikTok.

Katie famously covered the track with her ex-husband Peter Andre in December 2006 for his fifth studio album.

They performed the song together live several times including at the BBC’s Children In Need appeal in 2005.

The video shows Katie showing off her cleavage while wearing her daring sequinned costume and a horned headpiece.

Taking on her villainous role, she declares: ‘Pathetic! The curse is in place and nothing can change my mind. Not even if you let me sing’, before bursting out in song.

Another character abruptly interrupts her to scoff: ‘No one wants to listen to that,’ as Katie angrily says: ‘Evil always wins!’

Fans took to the comments to commend Katie’s performance, with one writing: ‘Love Katie! Good performer’.

Another echoed: ‘Yesss she’s absolutely brilliant, long live the pricey’ while a third added: ‘She’s really good’.

Someone else gushed: ‘She’s a legend long live the price’ while a fifth wrote: ‘So nice to hear something positive she deserves it everyone deserves a second chance’.

It comes after Katie confessed she ‘ballsed up’ her lines and made them up during her first week in the pantomime.

Speaking on the latest instalment of her podcast, The Katie Price Show, she admitted: ‘I am broken, knackered. If I have to read another script line, my head is ready to explode.

‘For the past six days I’ve had to learn a full script, dance songs for panto that I don’t know or I’ve never even heard of.

‘On top of that my nerves. The stress I’ve put on myself this week is ridiculous. I have ballsed my lines up and had to make some stuff up, so hopefully nobody noticed it.

‘Before I get on stage my mind’s going blank – it’s because I’ve been so tired. I need reassuring – this is new to me.

‘I’m alright going on telly, podcasting, talking about myself, but when you’ve got to learn a script and you’ve got people who have paid for tickets you’ve got to be good.’

The podcast release comes as panto organisers reduced ticket prices for the show following the negative reviews online.

Katie has taken a hit during her first run of shows, after being called a ‘disgrace’ and accused of not bothering to learn the pantomime’s dance routines.

The M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool where the panto is being held, is offering a 25 percent discount on Sleeping Beauty tickets.

Fans took to the comments to commend Katie’s performance, with one writing: ‘Love Katie! Good performer’

In a post on its official Facebook page, organisers said: ‘Calling all fairy tale fans! Sleeping Beauty has awakened at the M&S Bank Arena, and she’s spinning a magical Christmas adventure for the whole family!

‘For a limited time, get 25% off selected shows. Book your tickets now and escape into a world where dreams come true (and curses get broken by true love’s kiss!).’

Talking about joining the show, an excited Katie had previously said: ‘I am so excited to be performing in Liverpool. I love the city and can’t wait to bring my kids along with me and make some amazing memories.’

However, after a video of her dancing out of time for the opening night surfaced, fans were quick to express their annoyance.

Comments seen by The Sun, included: ‘Maybe, just maybe Katie Price could learn the routines. She was an absolute disgrace.

‘Clear to see how hard the other cast members have worked. very clear she thinks she can rock up making zero effort!!!’

Another person ranted: ‘Lol you hardly had any words, did no rehearsing and bippo acted you off the stage. Good work you can’t sing or act – your family must be so embarrassed.’

It’s not the first time Katie has been hit with cruel comments from trolls as after she gave her Instagram followers an insight into the show, she was met with a barrage on negative comments saying she couldn’t sing or act.

Her co-star, comedian Bippo (pictured), who plays The Castle Clown in the show, poked fun at reality star Katie as he warmed up the audience at the venue earlier in December

It comes after her pantomime co-star teased her for learning just ‘two of her 25 lines’ despite the hefty pay cheque.

Comedian Bippo, who plays The Castle Clown in the show, poked fun at the reality star as he warmed up the audience at the venue at the beginning of December.

He said: ‘This is the show starring Katie Price, Scam Supplements she’s amazing. She’s actually learned two of her 25 lines – it’s fantastic.’

Making clear he was trying to get a laugh from the crowd, he added: ‘I’m joking, you’ll see her. She is absolutely amazing.’

Katie will star in the panto until December 30, finishing her run at the 11,000-capacity venue just before the beginning of 2024.

As well as starring in Sleeping Beauty, she’s also set to play Queen Rat in the adults-only Big Dick Whittington and his Pussy.
